How to Transfer Photos from iPhone to Computer?

Q: I am trying to copy my photos taken with iPhone to my computer. I tried to sync it many times no use. All I learnt is you can copy photos from computer to iPhone not vice versa. Is that right? If there is a way to copy photos from iPhone to my computer please let me know.
